FAQ's
ERW pipes are steel pipes manufactured by welding the edges of steel sheets or coils longitudinally using electric resistance, resulting in a strong and seamless bond.
ERW pipes are typically made from steel, with grades such as 1161, 3601, and 4923.
ERW pipes are widely used in construction, infrastructure projects, water and gas transportation, scaffolding, and structural applications.
ERW pipes are available in thicknesses ranging from 1.2 mm to 7 mm.
Sizes typically range from 0.5 inches to 7 inches.
Advantages include uniform wall thickness, high dimensional accuracy, cost-effectiveness, and suitability for high-pressure applications.
ERW pipes are made by welding steel coils, while seamless pipes are produced by extruding steel billets. ERW pipes are generally more cost-effective and have consistent wall thickness compared to seamless pipes.
ERW pipes can be manufactured to meet standards such as BS 1387, EN 10255, and EN 10240.
Standard lengths range from 4 to 7 meters, but custom lengths can be produced based on specific requirements.
Yes, due to their manufacturing process, ERW pipes have high strength and are suitable for high-pressure applications.
Yes, ERW pipes can undergo galvanization to enhance corrosion resistance, making them suitable for various environments.
The thickness tolerance is typically around 50 microns, ensuring precision in applications.
The width tolerance is generally less than 1 mm, providing high dimensional accuracy.
ERW pipes undergo various tests, including hydrostatic testing, ultrasonic testing, and X-ray inspection, to ensure weld integrity and overall quality.
